“Fala” (The Wave) swimming complex

falaOperating since 1966 the “Fala” swimming complex sits on 12 hectares of the central section of Silesia Park. Designed by Dr Jan Kozub, this complex of swimming pools together form 4 000m2 of swimming surfaces. Its name comes from the wave pool, which at the time, was considered a unique wonder of technology on a national scale and still today, continues to be a crowd-pleaser. The lawns surrounding the pools are perfect for sun-bathing and from 2009, there is also a skateboard rink.

The “Fala” swimming complex includes: a wave pool, a diving pool (the diving tower is closed), the sports pool, the training pool with a slide and a kiddie pool with an island for little children.

The landscape surrounding the pools has changed somewhat with the cemented areas being covered with sand. Now we can put our towels out on mini beaches rather than a cemented sidewalk.

The pool’s organisers reserve the right to change opening times due to inclement weather or low numbers.
